"Buzz" is a nickname Kelly has gone by since he was about 11 years old. He adopted the title of The Buzz Saw upon taking on Young Link as his tournament main in competitive SSBM, fall of 2005.

Buzz has been a strong Young Link advocate by faithfully choosing him invariably in every tournament he attends and doing remarkably well! Buzz took advantage of the fact that few opponents have ever faced a proficient Young Link thus often underestimating his abilities. He wrote a Young Link guide for the Smash World Forums community that was eventually sticky'd.
In first half of his tournament career, Buzz ranked in top 5 of every tournament he attended in the states of Washington, Idaho, and Utah. He ranked in the top 10 of the Colorado Cutthroat Console Tournament in spring of 2006. At the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny held in Roy, Utah on May 13, 2006, he took 5th place amongst approximately 50 smashers. His tournament attendance began to decline as the year went on as he began dating sugarpoultry (whom he eventually married in December of 2006). Since then, his tournament attendance has been minimal, though he did rank 3rd place out of 100 attendants at a Melee event in Pocatello, Idaho in 2007.

Buzz currently resides in Rexburg, Idaho. He has yet to attend a single Brawl competition in person. His main character is Zelda; alternates are Ike, Lucario, and Zero Suit Samus. Aside from competition (or the lack thereof), Buzz contributes often to the Show Me Your News podcast. He has participated in several episodes and become a favored guest among fans. Buzz also serves as an administrator at Nintendo Hub (formerly Brawl Central).
