Event Match 38: Super Mario Bros. 2 is one of the 51 Event Matches in the Event mode of Super Smash Bros. Melee. As the title says, this event is related to Super Mario Bros. 2, the characters and the stages, namely fighting against Mario, Luigi, and Peach on the stage, Mushroom Kingdom II.
The description of this event is slightly inaccurate because Toad is not there (except for being one of Peach's attacks).
TIPS- Since friendly fire has been switched on, the computers are at a disadvantage because they are vunerable to each others attacks, which can actually rack up damage if you evade properly (eg sidestepping Peach Bomber correctly), yet this is difficult. Instead, an easier option is to choose Kirby and repeat stone above the CPUs on the middle platforms. Also, you could chose Roy and use his Up-B (Blazer) or standard-B (Flare Blade). Only charge Flare Blade as much as you can, or the CPUs will batter you.
