[edit] Trophy Info

An item that, when thrown or jumped on, careens across stages and hurts any player it hits. Green shells follow the environment's contours as they go and reverse direction when they hit walls. They really send opponents flying, so they're very effective as throwing weapons. If a shell's approaching, stop it by jumping on it. This technique is used in the Mario series.

  • Super Mario Kart
  • Mario Kart 64

[edit] Glitch

Though only a minor glitch, in Brawl, if two Pits deflect a green shell at each other, the fifth bounce, instead of a shield break happening, will Push the Pit backwards with no damage taken.

[edit] Trivia

  • The Green Shell (item) is bigger than the shells of both Koopas (Green and Red) in The Subspace Emissary.
  • In some Mario games, a Green Shell will eventually slow down and stop moving. This is not true for the Super Smash Bros. Series.
