Louie from Pikmin 2

Louie is Captain Olimar's partner in Pikmin 2. He appears as a newcomer to Olimar's workplace at Hocotate Freight. He is the one who made Olimar have to return to the Pikmin planet because he ate a load of Golden Pik Pik carrots which seemed to be very valuable. He was raised by his grandmother who made him eat bugs and play with them, which helps him survive when Olimar accidentally leaves him on the planet. Louie is a playable character in the game's single and multiplayer modes.

Louie is featured as a randomly obtainable Trophy and Sticker in Brawl. Also, as with some other characters, Louie also effectively appears as an alternate colour scheme for Captain Olimar.

"A new Hocotate Freight employee. Louie is responsible for Captain Olimar having to venture back to the Pikmin planet. On his first delivery, Louie was supposedly attacked by a space bunny that devoured his whole lot of pikpik carrots. Pushed to the verge of bankruptcy, Hocotate Freight takes out an enormous loan that Louie and Olimar set out to pay back."

His name in Japanese (Lugii) is an anagram of Luigi as Olimar (Orima) is to Mario. Their proportions are also relatively similar to Luigi and Mario, respectively.
As mentioned above, a costume of Olimar's closely remembles Louie. In the two player All-Star mode, the player faces two Olimars in the last round; the second Olimar has the "Louie" colour scheme.
In Pikmin 2 Louie had a whistle different to Olimar's which sounded somewhat like a harmonica.
