Ninten is the main character of the Japan-only game Mother. Mother was planned to be released in the U.S. by the name of EarthBound in the fall of 1991 on the NES, but the SNES was already out, and Nintendo thought that a new NES game wouldn't sell well, so the game was canceled. Ninten who is about 12 years old, looks similar to Ness, except that he doesn't wear a backpack, has thinner yellow stripes on his shirt then Ness does, has "Pac-Man" eyes, and has blue shoes and red socks. Another difference is that Ninten has no offensive PSI powers and has asthma. An addition to similar appearances, Ness and Ninten both have similar roles, and they both like baseball and steak. His PSI Powers include PK Telepathy, PK Lifeup, PK Teleport PK Power Shield and other assist PSI. In Mother, he is joined by Lloyd, a stereotypical nerd who wears glasses, Ana, a psychic girl who has a secret crush on Ninten, and Teddy, a strong street gang leader who looks like Elvis Presley. His name is just Nintendo except without the "do". Ninten didn't appear in any Super Smash Bros. game until Super Smash Bros. Brawl. However, Ninten's only role in that game is serving as a sticker. His sticker makes any "PK" attack stronger by 24. As such, only Ness and Lucas can use this sticker in the Subspace Emissary.
