Smash-Mex 1 was the first of a series of Super Smash Bros. Melee tournaments. It was held in México with Team Arena as the host.

  • Date: December 21st, 2006
  • Place: México D.F.
  • Address: Insurgentes Sur #4411 Building 7 Department 201
  • Tournament Start: 13:00.
  • Registry fee: $70 in Mexican Peso, $6 in Dollars. Only one person per registry.

[edit] Tournament Rule set

  • One Vs. One
  • 4 Stocks
  • 8 minute time limit.
  • Double Elimination
  • Every match will have a set of best-out-of-three.
  • The first stage will be selected between both players agreement, in case that doesn't happen, the stage will be selected randomly.
  • The character can be changed between matches.
  • The stage can be repeated between matches.

  • 1pm - 2pm: Registry and warm-up.
  • 2pm - 5pm: Tournament.
  • 5pm - 6pm: Break.
  • 6pm - 8pm: Tournament finals and friendlies (in case of free time).

  • The top 6 will be cash awarded.

  • Only advanced rounds will be recorded, including quarter-final and Semi-finals.
  • Both Winners Brackets and Losers Brackets will be recorded.

The tournament concluded with success as stated in the website, with at least 30 skilled players giving it all. The success will lead to the future organization for Smash-Mex 2 tournament.
