Bane first fell in love with the Smash Bros. commercial back in 1999. After much skepticism of recent crappy nintendo games on the Nintendo 64, he went to Blockbuster and rented the game. He went through the 1-player mode and instantly fell in love with the simple design away from tedious pre-made combos. He soon got his friends Neoknuckles and SolarSonic into the game. Soon they were playing every day after school. Bane, after changing characters many times, fell in love with Ness.

After more practice hours a day after school, he finally came across a local tournament. Bane did very well for a free-for-all items tournament; he even made one guy throw down his controller and leave in the middle of a match after taking 2 stocks in under 30 seconds. But in the final match he came across something he wasn't expecting - 3 people left, FFA, two friends vs him. Coincidentally he lost but did not get discouraged. He continued going to tournaments and placing well, doing his best to eliminate groups of friends with his friends before the finals.

Soon after Super Smash Bros. Melee came out, he instantly went and bought a GameCube and the game. He didn't really like the controller at first nor the fast-pacedness of the game, nor that Ness got nerfed horribly, so he instantly went back to the first Smash Bros. that tournaments were still being held for. About 3 months later they stopped having tournaments for Smash Bros., so Bane instantly picked up Melee again and joined Smashboards.

The first Melee tournament he participated in had items, was a free-for-all, and had no unlocked characters. Do to his instant meteor smash, like Ness in the first Smash Bros., he picked up Falco, but due to the "no unlockable characters" rule, he has to use Fox do to his likely-ness. The tournament was a breeze except for finals when he met his new rival Fenrir, known as meleeguy at the time. Every successive tournament after that, the finals was always against Fenrir. Bane soon quit due to monotony and engagements in pro CS life.

About 2 years later, he picked up the game again when some friends were over and remembered how fun it was. In that time he missed out on wavedash discovery and other techniques. After watching a few Falco videos online he instantly fell in love with Falco again. After much practicing the new techniques, he went to a tournament again. He won with ease, but the real challenge was facing Fenrir after the tournament in a friendly; he had kept up with the forums and mastered wavedashing, so he easily 3 stocked Bane. After that, Bane soon became dedicated to win. Since then, Fenrir has kept a personal gap between Bane. Both are constantly getting better at an equal rate. In 2007, Bane finally stood a chance against Fenrir, but not his main. Still dedicated to this day, Bane plays Falco, Falcon, and Game and Watch constantly, getting better every week.

Bane is currently big into the Brawl tournament scene and doing very well. He recently went to San Jose, CA for the GameStop grand national finals.
