ChronoSquare is an American smasher and Jigglypuff main from Wisconsin. He is known for overly long posts on Smash World Forums and for bringing a digital camera to nearly every tournament he attends.

In addition to recording crew battle videos from the tournament, notable matches recorded on said camera include the double-blind matches of Tapion vs. SuperDoodleMan and Black Hayate vs. Aarosmashguy at Fuhgeddabouit 1.

[edit] Background

ChronoSquare first began playing smash with Smash 64 but lacked local competition to flourish in the competitive community. In the summer of 2003, ChronoSquare exchange his old console systems, including the N64 and Super Smash Bros., for the next generation of Nintendo gaming and Super Smash Bros. Melee. Having not connected with local smashers beforehand, it was during this time that ChronoSquare first visited SmashBoards and registered in September 2003.

Off and on ChronoSquare would play Melee, and finally found someone who was near his relative skill level in smasher Tar. Though they didn't play often, Tar would later show a video project in school featuring the game and a level of gameplay that ChronoSquare himself had not seen before.

[edit] Tournament Activity

Shortly after confronting Tar about the video, ChronoSquare met KSSB, a local competitor, who then introduced him to competitive smash as well as other residents around the area including Kieper, Zicore, and Black Hayate.

ChronoSquare's first tournament came shortly after meeting KSSB at Beezo 5, where he and Tar teamed together. Though regular teammates during their early competitive careers, Tar has since moved to North Carolina for college.

Notable tournaments attended include Take It! 2, and the Midwest Circuit event Fugheddabouit 2. He has not placed significantly high in tournament brackets but the circuit event exposed him to a higher level of competition over all and he would go on to defeat Zjiin in the first round, making it through to a fifth round; he was knocked out of winner's by KSSB, and lost to D.Disciple in a close match in the loser's bracket.

[edit] Outside the Smash Community

ChronoSquare can be found on various other websites beyond Smash World Forums and include, but are not limited to, YouTube, DeviantArt, and the Smogon Forums, as well as occasionally visiting a game board or two on GameFAQs.

His YouTube account currently hosts several of his Melee matches; use of the Smogon Forums has been declining since ChronoSquare lost his Pokemon Diamond version somewhere mid-October (2007).

Other games ChronoSquare plays include Pokémon and Pokémon Puzzle League/Planet Puzzle League, Mario Strikers Charged, Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, Soul Calibur 3, and a variety of other RPGs like .Hack or Golden Sun.

Outside of videogames, ChronoSquare also plays card game Magic: The Gathering, although casually and not on a tournament level.
