[edit] About the game

Sonic Adventure was released in 1999 as a launch title for the Dreamcast. It introduced Big the Cat and Gamma. It was also Amy Rose's first time as a playable character in a main title.

Sonic's fast speed and the impressive graphics for the time won over many people. The bad camera is often one of the main reasons that the game can be critisized, as well as the wide amount of glitches (Although, some people enjoy these glitches, as it lets players get into levels that a certain character can't

The game also introduced chao and the chao garden, where players could raise chao. Chao having appeared in someway in each subsequent game.

It was remade for Gamecube and PC as the title Sonic Adventure DX. It added new features such as mission mode, and slightly enhanced graphics, although the game at it's core was not fixed, and as such the title was not as well received as it's original outing.

[edit] Characters

  • E-102 GAMMA
  • Big The cat

[edit] Others

These characters can be unlocked after completing certain objectives during the game.

  • Metal Sonic - Playable only in time attack mode when all Emblems are obtained.

[edit] Music

The music, Open Your Heart, is used in Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the Green Hill Zone stage. It is used in Sonic Adventure/DX on the last level, Perfect chaos and it is the main theme for the game.

[edit] Trivia

  • Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 are the only games that involve raising chao while the others give chao very minor roles in later games.
  • You can do two player when you play sonic's story, just like in the old Genesis/Mega drive games. However, you only play as tails in second player.
