action-shooter hybrid video game for the Nintendo GameCube, developed by Namco. It is the fourth game in the Star Fox series.

The design for Wolf O'Donnell in Super Smash Bros. Brawl is half-based on his design in Star Fox: Assault, the other half based on Star Fox Command.

Also, three of the Star Fox related music tracks in Brawl are directly ripped from this game. In addition, the designs of the non-fighter trophies are taken from this game, most notably Krystal. These designs are also used for the non-fighters in Fox, Falco, and Wolf's Smash Taunts on Lylat Cruise.
