[edit] Notice

Fan games are getting out of hand and one article is really all this series needs. Any info for SSF2 can be added here. This page should not and will not become an official page for the game. Please find some hosting site to do that. Silverdragon706/FyreNWater - (TC ) 07:06, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

That was a wise choice, but deleting the page altogether was a bad idea. Honestly, it would have been a lot wiser to use the Super Smash Flash 2 page since it was lengthier and most likely recieved more hits. TheSilenceOfNoOne (talk)
That's what the redirect is for. Silverdragon706/FyreNWater - (TC ) 05:45, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
Why would we keep the sequel, but not the original? It makes no sense! Fan games really shouldn't even be here in the first place. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 05:50, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, SSF was mainly kept to prevent the fan game supporters from flipping out. I wanted to remove all of them, but it caused too much drama the first time around. Silverdragon706/FyreNWater - (TC ) 06:25, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

I've spoken with the admin on the Fanon wiki, and he said they would be willing to host all of them. I think that would be a good solution. We could just have a page called "Fan Games" and it could direct people to the other wiki. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 15:55, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

That sounds like the proper solution. Should I delete the article yet?
As an aside, how does a fan game have a "content rating"? I'm sure the ESRB hasn't looked at it. MaskedMarth (t c) 19:46, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
You are a sysop, never mind. You don't need my help to delete an article :p. MaskedMarth (t c) 19:47, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] What In The Hell?

Is This Article Here For? KP317 (talk) 05:08, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Read this. It'll explain the problem. I'd say it's a pretty good compromise. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 07:13, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Defending my page

I made a page called Super Smash Bros. Ultima and its short yet it hasn't come out yet, so when it does, it could be a very good addition to SmashWiki. But since its a fan game, we can't have it. But this is here? How hypocritical! All for one or one for all, not whoever has the most fans. BladeNKrumpets (talk) 11:08, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] I have a good bit of information, but I can't edit yet.

BeauWorth (talk) 21:48, 31 December 2008 (UTC)It is already a work in progress. The current version is v0.3c. The next version is coming out today or tomorrow which is 0.4. Plus I'll ask Cleod to give me the information so I can add it. Making it official. I haven't told all my info yet and I won't.

[edit] Dojo

the dojo has changed its address 3 times. Why does it do that? --SMDC5000 (talk) 19:38, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Incompetency. 67.236.95.161 19:20, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

I see--SMDC5000 (talk) 18:51, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Need More Infoharater

I think this wiki should have more Articles on Super Smash Flash such as the Stages and Charaters. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.236.95.161 (talkcontribs)

There's a McLeodgaming Wiki for that. I think you'd get in trouble if you did that here.--SMDC5000 (talk) 18:51, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
It's getting too long again. People should start condensing it again. SD706/FnW - (UTC ) 05:41, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
What's wrong with it? Can you give examples? It looks fine to me. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 01:07, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
I agree there should be more information but i understand the ideals of the others here. It used to be a great information page on super smash flash, but now it is more condensed. However, I propose that we have a link to the srticle on McLeodgaming wiki or the official website so people can recieve more information if they wish.--Qim1 (talk) 23:13, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Criticism/Controversy

I have added a criticism and controversy section, if this is deleted or not accepted, I'll take that as a direct violation of freedom of speach, if you are going to have an SSF article, you must let people add to all aspects of it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.155.229.194 (talkcontribs) 13:12, 28 August 2009

"A direct violation of freedom of speach"... o _ O lolwut?
This is a wiki - you're free to say anything you like, but what you say can be edited by anyone. That's the whole point of a wiki. All your contributions are released under the CC-BY-SA, as it says underneath the edit summary bar. You don't own that which you contribute, so you can't govern what other users do with it.
This is an encyclopedia - a place for facts. If you add something irrelevant to an article, it will be removed, not because we enjoy infringing your civil liberties but because of the rules that govern this website. Otherwise, all of the articles would be filled with stuff like "o yeah metaknights teh bestest cahrachter eva".
I'm not saying whether or not the section should be removed, just that it could be if it's deemed to be irrelevant, and that if it were to be removed or altered it wouldn't be "a direct violation of freedom of speach" at all. PenguinofDeath 12:45, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
It seems like a useful section to me. Miles (talk) 14:15, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
The real question is whether or not those opinions matter. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 15:00, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

Will you please realize there are no rights on the internet? Smoreking(T) (c) 17:34, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

This too, although "freedom of speach" is very important. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 22:05, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

Ok, good to see that it wasn't deleted, by the way, Cleod9, if you delete it, I have it saved, people have already shown that they approve of the article, I'll repost it, unless you have a good reason for your deletion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.155.154.157 (talkcontribs) 00:15, 29 August 2009

...what? Cheezperson {talk}stuff 23:16, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
If by that you mean "if the section/article's removed, I'll just keep adding it", no you won't - you'd get blocked from editing. Anyway, no one's currently suggesting that it should be removed, so please stop defending it. Anyway, what are you saying's going to be deleted? The section that you added, or the entire article? PenguinofDeath 01:41, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
Rephrase: If somebody deletes the criticism and comments section, without a proper discussion about it, simply because it shows the negative side of the game, then I will repost it, if I get approval. I'm just sensing that somebody's gonna unleash a can of fan rage and delete it, that's why I'm defending it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.155.173.210 (talkcontribs) 03:04, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
No if it gets deleted, it's because it's irrelevant to the article. I still don't think this article belongs here in the first place tbh. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 04:50, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
But that, my friend, is only if somebody's following the rules, which some people don't. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.155.205.152 (talkcontribs) 07:10, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
Please sign your comments by placing ~~~~ at the end. Also, if it's decided that it is relevant to the article, if anyone were to remove it we can just undo their edit, you don't need to re-add it, and you certainly don't need to have saved it. You don't need to defend it so much. If it's a useful section, it won't need defending and if it's not a useful section then there's no point defending it. I think it's a useful section in a not-so-useful article, but that's just my opinion. PenguinofDeath 08:38, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
I second that. I think the section needs to be shortened a bit though. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 19:28, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

To be honest, I don't have an account here.

If you make an account here, your name should be Captain Obvious. And sign your comments. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 23:19, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
I like Squidly just fine. 41.155.143.65 02:12, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
@Cheezperson: "Captain Obvious"? Overly harsh, much... Also, use {{unsigned|username|time and date}} if someone doesn't sign their comments, don't just berate them for it.
@IP: Sign your comments using nothing more than ~~~~. Please don't sign using ~~~~Squidly as that way the word "Squidly" appears at the end of your signature, rather than in it, which makes your signature look weird. Also, you don't own the Squidly account, so the name "Squidly" shouldn't appear in your signature. As far as I know, the name hasn't been taken, so you're free to make the Squidly account if you do indeed want it. PenguinofDeath 18:27, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Fine, I also got myself an account.NeoSquidly (talk) 02:16, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] What's going on here?

I read that you guys transfered the Smash Bros. fan games to Fanon Wiki but here stays Super Smash Flash. Just asking why this one is staying here it really has no good reason to be here anymore. I mean the development team has a wiki and a website for this game, and it could easily be transferred to Fanon wiki as well. So there is really no reason why this should be here, can anyone answer why this article should stay? (Sora246 (talk) 02:30, 30 August 2009 (UTC))

Trust me, a lot of people (including myself) agree that this article doesn't belong here. It took a lot of arguing just to get rid of the rest! And sign your comments with ~~~~ at the end of your posts. Cheezperson {talk}stuff 03:10, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
