Template:Ccsc

From SmashWiki, the Super Smash Bros. wiki

Editing this documentation can be found at Template:Ccsc/doc. If you wish to edit it, go there.

This template is a relatively simple table that compiles all articles related to the Central Canada Smash Circuit into one place in a similar fashion to those seen on the Wikipedia like Template:USParty or Template:Led Zeppelin. This allows readers who are perusing a certain topic easier access to related articles and a more complete and informative enyclopedic experience overall. Anyone who has spent any length of time reading Wikipedia will know how easy it is to get lost in the links, lose complete track of time and then come out of the whole thing with an expansive knowledge of ancient Mesopotamian history!

To my knowledge, this is the first table of its kind on SmashWiki and please, by all means, use the code if you would like to adapt it to other regional smash communities. In fact, being that our central Canadian smash community is one of the newer ones on the market, this template is actually much better suited to a larger and more well-established repository of information anyway.

CCSC EDITORS: As a general rule, do NOT use this template on articles that are stubs!!

Since many smaller smasher articles don't typically give that much information, there's no need to have a giant box for all related articles that takes up more space than the content itself. Odds are, most profiles will link to a crew page or tournament page or something that will have the CCSC template on it.

[edit] How this table works

This table gets used on multiple other pages...use caution when editing!

Basically, all template tables such as this one act as an external source of information that any other article from SmashWiki can refer to. This means that when you edit this template, you're editing every single page where the table is being displayed, and if you delete anything, it will be deleted across the board as well:

How to display the table

Well, it's really easy. All you need to do is edit the article and put the following code at the bottom of the page:

{{ccsc}}

Not bad, huh? Click "Save" and the entire CCSC table should appear in the article in its most current form, reflecting the data in the template with 100% accuracy.

How to edit the table

Editing the table is a little bit more complex and I'm not going to get into the specifics with all the coding and stylistic things that you could do, but to create a basic copy and alter it for a smash community other than the CCSC, all you really need to do is change the picture, the names and the links to the articles. If you have any questions or run into any problems, feel free to let me know one way or another and I'll try to address them.
