Tyson is a Canadian smasher from Edmonton, Alberta and is a strong Marth player who has periodic exposure to playing with local professionals such as FalseFalco, MikeMonkey and Superboom. He is notorious for his fast adaptation and tech chasing skills in his smash community.

Tyson first started playing Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64 at his friend's house continuously, using Ness as his main. Then on December 25th, 2005, he got Super Smash Bros. Melee as a Christmas gift. Trying to play Ness, Tyson noticed the game speed was substantially faster, it was very difficult for him to use Ness's Up B recovery, and his yo-yo smashes seemed much weaker. Because of this, Tyson went on to the Internet to find guides of all the characters to see which character would catch his eye and interest. While looking at the Marth guide, he came across the term "wavedash" which eventually led him to Smash World Forums.
On Smash World Forums, he then met Carl, and Tyson soon went over for a smashfest with Carl and Shawn. Getting defeated continuously, this created motivation for Tyson to get better and he has mained Marth nearly the whole time.
