[edit] SSB4 Moveset Predictions
DISCLAIMER: Many of the characters listed here will probably not make it into the next game. This is just wishful thinking on my behalf.
[edit] Mario Universe
[edit] Geno
First off, this is how he'd look. I'm using this model because I wanted something different. Besides, since Pit's model was an adaptation, why not Geno? I'd imaging Geno using some of his old weapons, and some new ones such as a knight's sword made of light.
Special Moves:
Neutral B: Geno Beam
- A basic beam attack. Tilt the control stick to influence its wavelength-like movement.
Side B: Geno Blast
- Geno crouches down and sends 3 colored pillars of light crashing down in front of him. Like Pikachu's Thunder, they can get blocked by certain ceilings.
Up B: Geno Whirl
- Geno jumps and steadily floats upward while rings of light pulsate around him.
Down B: Geno Boost
- The animation takes a long time, but if it's performed right, Geno will become a little stronger and take a little less damage for a short time.
Final Smash: Geno Flash
- Geno transforms into a cannon and shoots a massive blast of energy at the center of the stage, which slowly expands.
[edit] Daisy
For Daisy, I'd imaging her standard attacks be similar to Peach's, but deal slightly more damage.
Special Moves: Neutral B: Flower Power
- Daisy shoots a stream of flower petals out of her hands.
Side B: Daisy Drive
- Similar to the Peach Bomber, Daisy leaps forward and attacks with an explosion of colorful petals.
Up B: Petal Barrage
- Daisy disappears in a whisp of flower petals and reappears in the direction you tilt the control stick.
Down B: Crystal Smash
- Daisy's Technique from Mario Strikers, she punches the ground creating 5 orange crystals that damage enemies, while at the same time, protecting her.
Final Smash: Maiden's Fury
- Daisy summons a storm of flower petals to attack enemies while cloaked in a magic petal shield. When it's all over, the petals gracefully blow off the stage.
[edit] Luigi
I'm tweaking Luigi a bit. I hope you don't mind.
Special Moves: Neutral B: Thunderball
- A change-up from the traditional Fireball, Juigi uses his Thunderhand move from Superstar Saga to shoot a green ball of crackling electricity. The trajectory has not changed, however. It still flies perfectly straight.
Side B: Green Missile
Up B: Super Jump Punch
Down B: Poltergust 3000
- Luigi whips out his vacuum from Luigi's Mansion to suck in enemies, having the exact opposite effect of Mario's F.L.U.D.D.
Final Smash: Negative Zone
[edit] Donkey Kong Universe
[edit] Funky Kong
Special Moves Neutral B: Funky Punch
- Essentially a clone of the Giant Punch.
Side B: Smash Punches
- Funky Kong punches three times in a specific direction. He does a right jab first, then a left hook, and then punches with both fists at once.
Up B: Rocketbarrel Jet
- Funky Kong pulls out his barrel jet and boosts into the air just like Diddy Kong's Rocketbarrel Boost. When Funky Kong reaches the peak of wherever he's jumping, fire falls down. If it hits an opponent, it will deal slight damage.
Down Special Move: Fist Slam
- Funky Kong turns toward the screen, crosses his arms above his head, forms them into fists, and slams them into the ground. Unlike Donkey Kong's Hand Slap, this technique can not be spammed.
Final Smash: Rocketbarrel Jet Smash
- Funky Kong straps on his jetpack and flies around the stage, similar to Super Sonic. Once it's over, he falls onto the stage with a huge explosion.
[edit] King K. Rool
Neutral B: Crown toss
- K. Rool takes off his crown and throws it at the enemy. It reappears on his head afterwards.
Side B: Spiked Mine
- K. Rool pulls out a cannon and shoots a mine straight forward. If the mine goes far enough without hitting an opponent, it will grow spikes and deal more damage.
Up B: Chopper Pack
- K. Rool straps on a helicopter backpack and gains about 10 seconds' worth of free flight.
Down B: K. Rool Bomb
- Similar to the Bowser Bomb, but faster and sends blue shockwaves upon impact.
Final Smash: Armored Tank
- A giant tank is assembled around K. Rool. You can move the tank left and right, but you can't jump. Hold A to fire a machine gun that you can aim by tilting the control stick, or press B to fire a chargeable bomb that can't be aimed.
[edit] Zelda Universe
[edit] Ganondorf
His down special move is like a transformation. Press Down and B to sheath or unsheath Ganondorf's sword. His unsheathed moveset is the same, as is the Final Smash for both forms, so I'll only be discussing the "unsheathed" moveset.
"Unsheathed" Neutral B: Wave Slash
- Hold and release to fire a short range energy blast.
"Unsheathed" Side B: Dark Wave
- Ganondorf fires a black wave of darkness from his palm. This attack does multiple hits and is similar in mechanics to Bowser's Fire Breath.
"Unsheathed" Up B: Lightning Slash
- Ganondorf ascrnds vertically, much like Marth's Dolphin Slash, but has a lightning element.
"Unsheathed" Down B: Sheath Sword
- Ganondorf puts away his sword and switches to his Brawl Moveset.
[edit] Pokémon Universe
[edit] Mewtwo
New Down B: Recover
- Mewtwo enters a defensive, meditative stance and recovers damage one point at a time. Rapidly tap B to keep recovering damage.
Final Smash: Psychic Eruption
- Purple explosions rage across the battlefirld trapping opponents as they ricochet from explosion to explosion. As expected, this attack is less effective on large stages.
[edit] Metroid Universe
[edit] Ridley
First off, anyone who says Ridley's too big, look at the Melee intro. He's small. That would be Ridley's model.
Neutral B: Fireball
- Ridley shoots a stream of fireballs that can be angled with the Control Stick. See Bowser's Fire Breath.
Side B: Tail Whip
- Basically a clone of Sheik's Chain.
Up B: Grab Bite
- Ridley dashes vertically, similar to the Falcon Dive. If he connects, he'll bite the opponent.
Down B: Tail Bounce
- Ridley uses his tail as a pogo stick to bounce around.
Final Smash: Dragon Rush
- Ridley dashes to and from the background multiple times.
[edit] F-Zero Universe
[edit] Captain Falcon
New Neutral B: Falcon Bullet
- Captain Falcon pulls his gun out of its holster and fires off a round. The blast has ridiculous knockback, but Captain Falcon must spend 10 seconds before he can fire again, in addition to a 3-second reloading animation which leaves him open to an attack.
New Side B: Falcon Punch
- Falcon Punch is moved to Side B, no other changes.
Final Smash: Super Falcon Punch
- [1] Do I even need to say it?
[edit] Fire Emblem Universe
[edit] Roy
Neutral B: Flare Blade
Side B: Double Edge Dance
- Same as in Melee, but the last hit deals fire damage.
New Up B: Blazer
- Roy dashes upwards at an angle with his flaming sword pointed outright.
New Down B: Eruption Slash
- Roy swings his sword with the power of fire and burns opponents.
Final Smash: Forblaze
- Roy jumps into the background and his sword expands into a giant sword of fire, when he slashes the arena all around with the flame sword.
[edit] Lyn
Neutral B: Bow
- A clone of Link's Hero's Bow.
Side B: Mani Katti
- Lyn dashes forward, slashing the first target in the way.
Up B: Sol Katti
- Same as Ike's Aether.
Down B: Velocity Blur
- Lyn dashes back and forth, making it look like there are 5 of her. This attack is used to counter enemy attacks.
Final Smash: Critical Hit
- Lyn blurs up, making 5 of her. The 5 Lyns dash and gang up of an enemy, slashing anyone else in the way.
[edit] Warioware Universe
[edit] Waluigi
Neutral B: Bob-omb
- Waluigi pulls a Bob-omb out of his pocket. Press B again to throw it. You must throw it quickly lest it explode in Waluigi's hand.
Side B: Defensive Volley
- Waluigi whacks opponents with a tennis racket; basically a clone of Mario's Cape.
Up B: Whirluigi
- Essentially the same thing as the Mario Tornado, but used to gain recovery distance.
Down B: Sparky Sticker
- Waluigi plants a Sparky Sticker on the ground, much like Snake's C4, but it activates upon an opponent stepping on it. Waluigi can only plant one at a time, but he can move it by pressing Down and B again. Unlike the C4, the sticker can not be planted on opponents or on walls.
Final Smash: Doom Dance
- Waluigi starts dancing around. As he does this, DDR arrows fly around and damage opponents, like a multi-directional PK Starstorm. This attack is less effective on larger stages.
[edit] Sonic the Hedgehog Universe
[edit] Sonic
I'd only change a few things about Sonic, the first of which would be to hire Ryan Drummond to voice him.
- First off, I'd change the win animation when he says "Sonic's the name..." and replace it with: "If you get as fast as me, you might put up a fight next time." I'd also replace his Side Taunt with saying "I'm just too fast!" Because 'You're too slow' sounds dumb. Finally, as a little easter egg, occasionally when Sonic grabs a Metal Box, he turns into Metal Sonic, but his moveset is not affected.
[edit] Tails
Work in Progress
[edit] Knuckles
Work in Progress
[edit] Shadow
Neutral B: Chaos Spear
- Tap to charge, release to fire. Can be used repeatedly by tapping B, but only when charged will it so any real knockback. Very Powerful when fully-charged.
Side B: Work in progress.
Up B: Chaos Control
- A basic teleportation move, but Shadow actually dashes at a ridiculously fast speed. The dash itself deals massive knockback, but has a very small window of opportunity.
Down B: Chaos Blast
- Charge and release to unleash a massive explosion. This attack is similar to the Wario Waft in that it must charge for quite some time in order to unleash its full power.
Final Smash: Super Shadow
- Basically the same as Super Sonic but Shadow flies slower and his tackles deal more damage.
[edit] Megaman Universe
[edit] Megaman
Neutral B: Mega Buster
- Works exactly like its series counterpart.
Side B: Weapon Copy
The Weapon Copy is the move which merits the most discussion. Basically, Mega Man could conceiveably work like Kirby, stealing powers from opponents. In the Mega Man games, Mega Man always had to defeat an enemy to get its power, but that wouldn't work in most cases pertaining to Smash Bros. games. Imagine a simple 1-on-1, 1-stock VS match. If Mega Man K.O.'ed his opponent, he would get a weapon, but the match would be over, and he wouldn't be able to use the weapon. Kind of a gyp, right?
Thus, an alteration was needed. When using the Weapon Copy as is, Mega Man dashes forward in a manner similar to Bowser's Koopa Klaw, trying to grab an enemy. If he grabs an enemy, he scans them, copying weapon data. The weapon absorbed isn't a direct copy of an enemy attack, but rather a weapon similar to one of Mega Man's old weapons, but still similar enough to the character copied. As stated in the picture, an example of this would be Mega Man copying Mario, which would give him the Atomic Fire, a chargeable fire-throwing technique quite different from Mario's Fireball.
Kind of a mouthful, there.
The mechanics of the Weapon Copy are much like Kirby's Copying technique. If Mega Man copies an opponent, he steals a power. If one Mega Man (A) copies another Mega Man (B) when Mega Man B doesn't have a Copy Power, Mega Man A retains the Weapon Copy ability. If Mega Man A copies Mega Man B when Mega Man B has a Copy Power, Mega Man A receives the Copy Power, while Mega Man B loses theirs.
Get all that? Go ahead, take a 5-minute break, and, when you feel ready, read the rest of this at your leisure.
Of course, Mario isn't my only Copy Power idea. Here are some more Weapon Copy ideas from characters that already exist.
Samus: since Samus has a Missile that homes in on enemies, I figured that Mega Man could use the Homing Sniper from Mega Man 8 when copying her. Both Samus's and Mega Man's missiles could work the same way.
Ice Climbers: Mega Man has had numerous ice-type weapons over the course of his career. Any one of them could conceivably work, but, for the sake of nostalgia, the Ice Slasher from Mega Man 1 would be best. It would fire an icy bolt forward, possibly freezing whoever it touches.
Pit: since Pit is primarily a bow-wielder, an arrow weapon is only natural. The Super Arrow from Mega Man 5 seems too goofy, so I'd go with the Arrow Shot from Mega Man 8. A normal Buster power-up in that game, the Arrow Shot can fire a single arrow forward to pierce an enemy. When an enemy is hit, the arrow then splits into a stream of arrows that travel in various directions!
Snake: for Snake, something bomb-related is obviously required. I think the Hyper Bomb from Mega Man 1 is a bit too direct, so Mega Man 2's Crash Bomb is best. It fires a bomb that attaches itself to an opponent creating a decently sized explosion.
Sensing a pattern here? Obviously, most of these Copy Powers would be projectile-based, but there could be some variations.
Wario: coming up with a Copy Power for Wario was rather difficult, seeing as how Mega Man isn't the type of character to unleash a giant fart cloud. In Mega Man 8, Mega Man can summon Rush to transform into a motorcycle, so the Rush Cycle could be Wario's Copy Power, seeing as how Wario can use a motorcycle. Of course, if Mega Man dismounts the Rush Cycle, it would just dissappear, as the idea of Rush breaking into pieces to be thrown at enemies seems rather morbid to me.
Sonic: I'd go with the Break Dash from the Game Boy version of Mega Man 5. With this, Mega Man can boost forward quickly to strike enemies, much like Sonic.
Up B: Rush Jet
- Megaman summons Rush and does a loop similar to that of the Shuttle Loop. After that, you can tilt the control stick forward to move faster, back to slow dorn, and up and down to move up and down. This can also be used in conjunction with the Mega Buster.
Down B: Mega Ball
- Megaman drops a soccer ball on the ground that can be picked up and thrown by anyone, but press Down and B again to kick it sending it flying and bouncing off walls devastating opponents. It can also be jumped on by Megaman to jump higher.
Final Smash: Super Adaptor
- Megaman and Rush Combine. You can fly around like Super Sonic, but unlike that, you have to press a button to launch a rocket punch that does 40% damage and has very great knockback.
Also, Megaman would have a completely new voice actor, considering the asscrack of a bad dub that was Megaman 8.
[edit] Ganbare Goemon/Mystical Ninja Universe
[edit] Goemon
Neutral B: Burning Ryo
- Tap B to throw a coin at enemies. Quick, but doesn't deal much damage. Charge it, however, to throw the Burning Ryo; a blazing fireball that deals much damage and sets opponents on fire.
Side B: Goemon Yo-Yo
- This weapon strikes enemies from a set distance, but if it connects, it hits multiple times for great damage.
Up B: Chain Pipe
- This move is a Tether Recovery. In addition to that, Goemon can fire straight up from the ground to yank airborne opponents out of the sky.
Down B: Sudden Impact
- Perfect for fans of Dragonball Z, Goemon powers up, turning his blue hair into spiked gold hair. Goemon deals extra damage, but he'll also take extra damage.
Final Smash: Goemon Impact
- Goemon blows on a conch shell and gets pullen via tractor beam into the giant robot Impact. Impact controls exactly like his series counterpart, and you can also unleash a devastating laser by using a secret combination of buttons, but upon doing that, the transformation automatically ends.
[edit] Yae
Neutral B: Yae Bazooka
- Yae whips out her bazooka and fires a shot that flies straight ahead. This move can be charged to lock onto everyong within range and release to fire. The shots will zero in on opponents, but they aren't unavoidable.
Side B: Sword Shield
- Yae spins her sword out in front of her creating a shield that can block any projectile.
Up B: Backflip
- Yae performs a stylish backflip to gain vertical distance. It deals no damage, but it's pretty cool to look at.
Down B: Quick Slash
- Yae strikes with her sword. the attack is so fast that it's well near impossible to avoid in time. this attack has the range of the Fan.
Final Smash: Ninja Squad
- Yae summons six special agent ninjas to come to her aid. These six ninjas hide around the stage and slash opponents when they get too close. One ninja will even drop a bomb with a high radius and nsane knockback. Obviously, this attack isn't even close to as effective on larger stages. The ninjas stay onscreen for 30 seconds before leaving.
[edit] Eternal Darkness Universe
[edit] Alex
Neutral B: Damage Field
- Alex summons five runes that circle around her, creating a temporary barrier that damages anyone who touches it with a powerful electric shock. Even though this attack is a shield, it does not block projectiles.
Side B: Magickal Attack
- This spell channels the power of the Dead God, Mantorok, and releases it as a tremendous lightning blast.
Up B: Teleportation
- Basically a clone of Mewtwo's Teleport.
Down B: Magick Pool
- Basically the same as Ness' PSI Magnet.
Final Smash: Sanity's Requiem
- Magickal bolts fall from the sky striking unlucky opponents and causing them to lose their "sanity" (i.e.: a proper control scheme).
[edit] Golden Sun Universe
[edit] Isaac
Neutral B: Grand Gaia
- Charge and release to send two giant rocks flying from both sides of his body. This is one of Isacc's most powerful attack when charged to its maximum level. Make sure to do so, otherwise you'll just throw pebbles.
Side B: Ragnarok
- This attack summons a giant energy blade that strikes enemies with tremendous force. The blade stabs at a diagonal angle from above Isacc, piercing enemies.
Up B: Wild Growth
- A plant-based attack that sends thorny vines straight upward to damage opponents above Isaac. This attack is also a Tether Recovery.
Down B: Quake Sphere
- Similar to Donkey Kong's Headbutt, this attack deals massive damage trapping enemies under the soil. Although this only happens to enemies close to Isacc, opponents further away will still take damage.
Final Smash: Judgement
- Isacc asks the Earth Djinn to summon the incredible knicht known as Judgement. Judgment's fury blasts the stage with incredible force punishing many, if not all, opponents.
