Yes, yet another game mechanics-related subpage. This time, it's all about testing how much HP the enemies in the Subspace Emissary have.
[edit] How To Help
If you want to help gather data, then just do the following: Attack an enemy and write down how long it takes to kill it and what difficulty you're using, as well as which moves you used. Try to avoid multi-hit attacks if it's hard to tell exactly how many hitboxes connect, and try to avoid moves with sweetspots for similar reasons. It's also best to use characters/moves that aren't boosted by stickers unless you're 100% sure of what you're doing. And if an enemy gets hit by anything other than your known attacks (such as being knocked into each other), then that test is mud. The good news is I'm almost certain that SMN does not apply in the Subspace Emissary.

[edit] Current Unknowns
- The Paratroopa testing is baffling me. It takes 6 of Kirby's jabs (just the first hit of the combo) on Easy to KO a "new" Paratroopa (G). Since the jabs do 2% each, this means its HP must be either 11 or 12. But it only takes one of Mario's up-tilts, which only does 7% damage. Testing using attacks that do 3%, 4%, 5%, and 6% damage all show that its HP should be between 10 and 18. My current theory is that moves that do less than a certain amount of damage merely knock off the Paratroopa's wings without doing any damage. Any help here?
- The only way I can think of to test a Floow's HP is to kill it in one hit. I think stickers may have to be used here.
