I personally have a distaste for embedded YouTube videos, particularly because they bloat the page (both in page-size and in ability to view them; YouTube videos are not particularly small). I would say, 'take this to the community', but the other administrators and I have the view that the majority of said community is not the most intelligent. Further, I don't use Monaco, so it personally wouldn't affect me to see them as a widget. In the end, I'd say that embedding the videos into SmashWiki is probably not in the best interest of the encyclopedia, seeing as how current style has left them to be external links. I would suggest addressing this question to the other administrators and asking them to reply here, as I don't know whether I'm particularly representative. --Sky (t · c · w) 22:30, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

I, too, hate embedded videos. Why do I have to load them if I'm not even going to watch them? YouTube is for videos, not this wiki. Silverdragon - thanks for the feedback. You have a valid point when talking about a normal article, but in the case of SmashWiki's articles in the Videos category, the whole reason for visiting those articles is to watch videos. =) Having said that, I hear you two loud and clear. You're both opposed to embedded articles, so SmashWiki simply won't be a part of the experiment. There are plenty of embedded articles at other wikis (both added by me and pre-existing) for us to track usage. We expected that not all wikis would welcome the experiment, and as always, we completely respect each wiki community's wishes. So I'll simply move on to the next wiki. Thanks again for your honest feedback. Feel free to continue the discussion here (both of you and any other admins that haven't given their input, but wish to do so), and I'll continue to respond. Yeah, I had been waiting for other admins to respond here; apparently the concept of embedding videos indicates that they would auto-load as soon as I'd open up a page, which is definitely something I'd want to avoid if given the choice. Something akin to the existing logo (which came from elsewhere), and by that I mean something that incorporates multiple Brawl characters, etc. Also, it would help if included "Smash Arena" somewhere. Hey JoePlay, remember me? It's MG. Anyway, I don't think Miles is here at the moment, but Squallinoa (the founder and original "runner" of Smash Arena; he's active, but not on SmashWiki due to being temporarily banned) asked me to watch Smash Arena (Cheezperson was asked to do the same) while Miles runs it. Yep, that's where I got the image. When making logos/banners/etc., instead of starting from scratch (which would take a LONG time) I always search the web for good images that I can easily modify to fit what the person is asking for. Hey JoePlay. I didn't realize this until today, but you know that Welcome Template you used to welcome me on my talk page (it's in my first archive)? Well, I used that (instead of the current one; seems more useful) to welcome a few users (I can't trace each one), but I didn't notice that the talk page link was to yours. Sorry about that... If you're good with .pngs, could you maybe create a combo of this Smash icon with this Wikipedia icon to make a logo for SmashWiki's admins? As in, mop across the Smash logo? Thanks for any help you can give. Miles (talk) 03:38, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
