[edit] Redirecting user pages
You really shouldn't as a rule edit the user pages of others, but you *really* shouldn't delete what's on their user page and replace it with a redirect to the main namespace. Redirecting like that probably isn't a good idea to begin with, so combining the two makes things pretty bad. Thanks. --Kirby King 23:39, August 8, 2006 (GMT)
These user pages can be viewed and editted by anyone just like the player pages. I use the other page more than this user page, so what's the difference? Why is it bad to redirect?--Simna ibn Sind 23:41, August 8, 2006 (GMT)
- There's a fundamental difference between the two. All of our actual Smash-related "content" is supposed to be in the main namespace, i.e. anything that doesn't start with something like "SmashWiki:" or "User:". User pages are in the user namespace and are supposed to bascially represent the user profiles of people on the wiki; if they have an article about themselves, then their entry in the main namespace is about that person with regard to Smash. Thus discussion on the talk page for that article would be about the article itself, while discussion on this page (for your user account) is supposed to be about you on the wiki. Yes, anyone can edit a user page, but it's considered courteous to not do so unless it's yours. --Kirby King 01:21, August 9, 2006 (GMT)
OK i see so the USER: pages are for info about that person in general and the player pages are for info on them involving smash...ok....ill take off my redirect.--Simna ibn Sind 01:27, August 9, 2006 (GMT)
- It's also considered rude to edit someone else's user page. It's the closest we have to something personal on a wiki, so changing it is like changing someone's sig on Smashboards, etc. No worries though, simple mistake. --nealdt 16:54, August 11, 2006 (GMT)
[edit] GSC
Hey OMNIVECTOR ,Simna Ibn Sind , I tried to download the GSC but it seems impossible due to in every attempt this message appears: "Your download has failed. You have an invalid session set. Click here to try your download again." OR "There was an error processing your request; it appears to be invalid or there was an error with your conection. Please wait while your request is retried...
If you need further help with a download, please contact FileFront support. "
Can you give me a soultion , or an alternative , to it?
When you go to the error page from clicking the link if you look below you should see the file name GSCv003 in large bold print and under that it should say Download Now. Click that.--Simna ibn Sind 03:37, November 21, 2007 (EST)
